The Refuge Wellness Project offers free unique and mental health therapy for refugees initiated at community pharmacy.
In the United Kingdom, refugees often have limited access to healthcare due to the overstretched NHS. Resettlement of asylum-seekers in the UK numbered to 5,806 in 2018. The problem is that many people with mental health issues do not have NHS numbers, and those who do still face delays in getting treatment.
With the launch of ‘the Refugee Wellness Project’ the overall importance of this project is that we will be providing refugees with free, one-to-one therapy with the assistance of our highly qualified therapists. In addition, Manchester Pharmacy & Health Clinic, an independent pharmacy located on Stockport Road within Manchester, has announced the launch of a unique project that will be providing support for refugees in Manchester.
